There are four main reasons that a video will not show any data after processing.
If you checked and passed all of the above points, then please email us at support@visor.gg with your match link and Visor username, or find us on Discord and @Visor Squad. We’ll get your match fixed up ASAP.
There are three main reasons that a video will show small errors or inaccuracies:
Feel free to email us at support@visor.gg with your match link and Visor username, or find us on Discord and @Visor Squad. We keep a long catalogue of these bugs so we can tackle them one at a time! Usually for small errors, we won’t be able to dive in and fix it right away, but we always note the error. We re-run every bugged video once we push out new updates to our computer vision or insight algorithms, so your video will be included in the re-run and the data should be fixed!
Right now we are running into a bit of an issue with visualizing console data. We already have a hot fix coming in the next few days, so you can keep uploading videos and we are going to re-run all console gameplay when it's live so console game data will be fixed.
For now, it’s very likely that if you’re uploading console games, you will see errors in your game data.
In these cases, Visor isn’t telling you that you did right or wrong. Visor is taking your data and running comparisons across hundreds of millions of other gameplay events across thousands of gamers to provide baseline ranges and guidance on how to interpret your numbers.
For example if you feel like you did well in using your ultimates, but Visor says you held it for too long, it may be that in general you should try to use your ult quicker, but in that specific game you made the right plays. However, if you continue to hold your ult for a very long time in every game, you’re more likely to play poorly then play well!
This is what Visor is good at, it is good at finding trends over the long run and trends within a game. But it won’t immediately tell you if those trends are indicative of “good” or “bad” play. As you use Visor more, you’ll be able to intuitively sense how Visor thinks, and Visor will be able to improve its own analysis of your gameplay style.
We have several hero-specific features launching soon! This includes skill cooldown management, effective skill usage, and skill timings. Along with this update, we will be retailoring the Tips system to be hero specific.
Currently, the tips are generalized because we have a wide range of players (from bronze all the way to the top 100 players in the world). The tips and recommendations system currently doesn’t take into account the hero you play because we haven’t launched enough hero specific insights yet. That is why you will occasionally see tips recommending you do more damage as Mercy! However, we know you’re smart enough to ignore those tips for now
Visor isn’t built to tell you how to get better right off the bat. As a reminder, we are still in Alpha and are in the testing and improvement stage of our product. Our goal currently is to continuously improve our computer vision and algorithms so we can find useful and quick insights into your match and overall gameplay style. We must first accomplish this goal before we can provide exact improvement recommendations or practice suggestions.
For example if you feel like you did well in using your ultimates, but Visor says you held it for too long, it may be that in general you should try to use your ult quicker, but in that specific game you made the right plays. However, if you continue to hold your ult for a very long time in every game, you’re more likely to play poorly then play well!
However, our data in and of itself is extremely personalized and custom already. Each data point and insight is already tailored to your playstyle and your matches. As you continue to use Visor, the data and insights will continue to improve in accuracy and usefulness!
We hear this a lot and we completely agree! Visor won’t be able to capture contextual moments or pick up situational events quite yet. For example, if there is a key Widow vs. Widow duel outcome, or a key ultimate that gets countered, Visor won’t be able to tell you those specifics.
The goal behind building Visor is different from anything you've probably tried before. Our goal is never to try and tell you exactly why you won or lost, or to give you advice on if you're playing right or wrong. Overwatch is too situational to do that just with numbers. In fact, even humans fail to catch many mistakes in a game.
Visor’s goal is to provide complex data in a very insightful and useful interface so you can easily identify strengths and weaknesses. Occasionally you will see something that you know is important and say, "That's not right, I remember that situation, Visor is wrong, or Visor missed something" and that's exactly what we would expect. There are consistently going to be exceptions in our analytics, but the point of using Visor is to provide a very accurate and comprehensive baseline to understand your gameplay and improve on a per match basis and over the long term.
Yes! You can use any recording client. We always recommend OBS because it is lightweight and high performant, but any recording software is fine as long as it follows the recommended recording guideline.
Check out the recommended recording guideline.
Yes! We have had videos at 480p and 15fps work fine. There is a chance that Visor won’t be able to pick up some data points when the video quality is too poor, but as long as you are close to the recommended guidelines, you should be good to go.
You don't need to separate or splice your matches! If you upload one long VOD with several matches inside, Visor can auto detect each match and splice them for you. Then run analysis on each match which shows up individually on your dashboard.
The downside to this is that since it is a long video with a larger file size, it takes Visor longer to process (parsing through, cutting, analyzing). If you upload piece-wise, one match at a time, Visor will process in parallel and much faster!
Yes! First person gives you personalized data on your individual impact, ultimate management, and teamplay. Here is an example.
Team game insights (scrim view) gives you analytics on team fights and your team/individual dynamics. Here is an example.
The interface is different and the stats recorded are different. You can read more details on our recent Reddit post

It depends on the video size/length! An average match (15-20min, 500mb file) usually will run in 1-1.5x the length of the match. So you can expect your match to be done in less than 30min.
However, we see people upload a 15min, 6gb file which will take a lot longer and is hard to estimate. Occasionally, people upload 8hr VODs and just leave Visor to run overnight as well!
Once your video is done uploading, you can close your browser. Visor processes your match on our servers and will notify you when your insights are ready!
Visor currently supports English and Korean. We have support for several languages coming up including French, Spanish, Chinese, and Japanese.
Absolutely! We currently support a 16:9 aspect ratio but adjustments for future aspect ratios is in the works. As we open support for various aspect ratios, we will announce them in our Discord and on our site.
There is no maximum length, and the maximum size is 100gb. However, we recommend against trying to reach any maximum. There is a direct correlation between your file size/video length and the amount of time it will take for Visor to analyze your gameplay. Our absolute recommended max limit is around 5-10gb per file and no longer than 2 hrs. If it’s longer, rest assured Visor will still process the video, but it will just take longer.
Being able to stream directly to Visor via any streaming software like OBS will be available very soonTM. ETA for this feature is by April 10, 2018. For now, the recommended method is to record your gameplay and upload!
Visor is backwards compatible to a certain degree. Currently if you have a video where the kill feed shows up like this https://i.imgur.com/T32UGUC.png then Visor won’t be able to process because we lose a lot of detail on the actual events in game. Any videos after the most recent kill feed update should be good to go!
Our roadmap is pretty dense and we have a lot of awesome stuff coming! We currently don’t have a public roadmap, but we plan to have one in the future so you can vote on the features you’d like to see and request new features. For now, we love hearing about new features and awesome ideas for Visor through email at support@visor.gg or in our Discord community.
Absolutely! Because of our high volume, you should DM one of our team members in Discord or email us at support@visor.gg We will typically respond within 15min.
When your upload is stuck at 0% for more than a few minutes, check to make sure your system clock is set to auto update. Due to security reasons, if your system clock is off, we do not accept the upload.

We'll be having a pro membership subscription to Visor, where you can get even more crazy features like automated weekly highlight reel, form squads on Visor with your teams, squad stats, automated team highlight reels, more advanced analytics, useless and mildly interesting stats (e.g. 80% of your Hanzo headshots happened when you have 20% hp), and faster queue times.
As heavy gamers who grew up with the budding SC/DotA 1 scene, we want to support eSports and competitive gaming as much as we can by making the free version of Visor as useful as we can to all your average gamers, so the pro version is definitely not going to be necessary but will enhance the experience a lot

We currently don’t have a downloadable client, but recommend every person use OBS to record if they do not have their own default recording software yet. We plan to build a client in the future so that you will have the option to choose how much video streaming and processing is handled locally as well as on our servers.
We currently don’t have a mobile app, but intend to build one in the future. Since we are still in Alpha, our goal is to nail down the experience first before committing resources to build across platforms.
Our company is currently supported by several top investors with enough funding to operate independently, as well as expand the team going forward.
